SLA 3D PRINT

SLA 3D PRINTING - A FEW WORDS

If you are interested in the subject of SLA / DLP printing, the construction of this type of printer, control, electronics etc. Then please contact us directly, below is some general information about FDM printing. You will find more on the following pages:

WHAT IS SLA PRINTING?

Stereolithography is the first additive method, we can say that it is the mother of 3D printing. As in any incremental method, the model is made layer by layer. In the case of the SLA method, our model is created by curing the resin with laser light or using the light produced by the display (DLP method). In the case of the latter, the printing time is shorter, but it is harder to get very high accuracy, currently the most accurate printers are based on the construction using a laser beam and mirror mechanisms, which does not mean that we will not find DLP printers with the same parameters. Such printers are already on the market and use 4K / 8K displays, such resolution translates into print quality and accuracy.

Returning to the topic, our model is created layer by layer and is attached to a special platform that rises exactly by the height of the layer that we will set in the program. Unfortunately, the SLA method needs supports during printing, just like the FDM method. The print made usually needs to be subjected to a bath in isopropene alcohol to clean it from resin residues, and then dried and cured under UV light. Each method has its pros and cons, and above all the purpose, printing simple prototypes will not necessarily be good using the SLA method.

APPLICATION OF THE SLA METHOD:

  • dentistry (ceramic resins)
  • molding (lost wax method)
  • model making (figurines, elements of models)
  • prototypes

MATERIALS USED IN THE SLA METHOD:

  • Draft resins
  • Resins for precision printing
  • Ceramic resins
  • Foundry resins
  • Resins fully colorful and transparent
ADVANTAGES OF SLS PRINTING:

  • Possibility of printing one element and several elements at the same time
  • Print price
  • Print time
  • Possibility to print dental prostheses
  • Possibility to print casting elements

DISADVANTAGES OF SLS PRINTING:

  • Small work area (most machines on the market)
  • Material strength
  • The need to use a print finish (bath in alcohol, UV exposure)
